Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Tour
Come experience the beauty and mystery of Kilauea with us on our Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Tours! Join us for our informative, small group tours, and explore the natural and geologic wonders of the park with our fun and knowledgeable guides.
You’ll have the chance to visit The Steam Vents, Nahuku Lava Tube, Kilauea Iki Overlook, Devastation Trail, Jaggar Museum and more!
Time allowing, we’ll visit Rainbow Falls or ‘Akaka Falls upon our return to Hilo.
Please Note: You will not see red flowing lava on this tour. You can see active lava on our Lava Hikes only.
Tour Duration: 6-7 Hours
We’ll depart Hilo in our air conditioned 15-passenger vans, with pick ups at major Hilo hotels, and our Hilo meeting point with plenty of free parking. (If you’ll be arriving on a cruise ship, select Hilo Cruise Ship Day Tours). Tour times vary slightly by date. You can contact us for exact times, or we’ll give you one when you request a reservation.
Difficulty: Easy- with walks up to 1.5 miles on unpaved trails. (Walking distances and locations may vary due to weather and other factors.)
Minimum Age: 7 years
Temperatures are often cool, and we may encounter showers. Kilauea summit is located at just over 4,000 feet (1,220 m) elevation. Vog (sulfuric volcanic gasses) may be present in the park. Our tours run rain or shine and we’ll only cancel if conditions are unsafe..
What to bring/wear:
Sturdy, comfortable hiking/walking shoes
(Running shoes with good tread work well. NO flip flops.)
A light jacket or windbreaker
(i.e. asthma inhaler or epi pen)
Tour Meeting Place: Hilo meeting point, or major Hilo hotels
